We came across Timo Helgert, aka Vacades, on Instagram and now we can’t look away. Hailing from Germany, Timo is an AR Visual artist who creates wild and wonderful graphics ranging from abstract cityscapes to trippy visuals for PUMA.
It’s easy to get lost within his work, with the above a beautiful render showing a deserted tube carriage where he has edited butterflies flying around flowers and grass. This is only the beginning of his magic, which is the result of years of hard work and dedication to his craft.
Timo has been interested in visual design since he was 14, when he switched schools and knowing nobody, chose to throw himself into 3D design and learning lots of new skills that have led to the sick work he creates today. He started creating short films, and then after getting his first 3D program after winning a bet with his dad, he began to make the magic he’s known for today.
Being a well-travelled man and having lived in Japan and Korea, his inspiration is evident through his work. Some of his images glimpse into a futuristic world, with below an example of how mad cars could look one day, whilst others are complete contrast and feature spooky giant spiders and snakes slithering through a train.
His most recent graphics have been fun takes on famous cities around the world that are normally crazy with people everywhere and non-stop activity. However, with the current COVID-19 pandemic, these cities are now empty, so Timo has put a special twist on them turning them into nature-filled scenes with colourful plants and flowers.
You can check out his insane work via his Instagram at @vacades, but he also sells a range of artwork, texture packs, and additions to 3D software so you can attempt to create your own special work. Hit the text below to shop it all today.
